What Do Costco Items Cost?

One of my more popular posts asks Is Costco Worth the Membership? There, I did an item by item comparison of my grocery store’s prices versus what I paid for them at Costco.

Since it seems that people are interested at getting a look behind that membership-blocked door, here is some more information about what I’m able to get there and at what prices.

Costco products

In the picture above, I’ve placed a Pyrex measuring cup so you can get a sense of the items’ sizes.

  • 3 pounds of Kirkland tortilla strips for $3.39
  • (2) 48 oz. bottles of San Antonio Farms salsa for $5.79
  • 3 pounds of Kingdom Pets chicken jerky dog treats for $14.49
  • (2) 67 oz. bottles of Prego spaghetti sauce for $7.69

Eat Kraft Process Cheese Products or the Terrorists Win

Don’t get me wrong. I buy and eat Kraft Singles just like everyone else. I just find those currently-running Kraft commercials very strange.

Why are they bragging that this cheese product is uniquely American and only our country could have developed it? Perhaps this point is true, but is this something to crow about?

Yes, why have natural, aged, artisan-crafted cheese that’s been perfected through the hard work of generations and generations when you can have chemical-infused, machine-created product! Do your patriotic duty and eat the inferior stuff!

While you’re at it, don’t forget the cheese in a can.

Well ok. I may actually consider those brag-worthy. I mean, can you just imagine the looks on the aliens’ faces when they get introduced to that?
