And the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature Goes To
I have finally seen all three of the nominated movies for last year’s Best Animated Feature releases.
My ranking goes:
- Wall-E
- Kung Fu Panda
- Bolt
The boyfriend, who is a professional animator, flips the last two:
- Wall-E
- Bolt
- Kung Fu Panda
I preferred Kung Fu Panda’s story and humor. I’m a big sucker for team work and combining different fighting styles. As a kid, my favorite cartoons, such as GI Joe and M.A.S.K. (man, does anyone else remember M.A.S.K.?), always featured teams.
I didn’t expect it to be a factor, but I found myself really appreciating that this movie reflected my own cultural heritage.
Like me, the boyfriend really liked the way Kung Fu Panda looked, but he found Bolt’s story to be better. His sister also worked on the movie at Disney so I can’t fault him for the familial loyalty.
