BSG: Hell is Clunky Exposition
Caution: spoilers for “No Exit” (4.15)
This is an episode I hoped wouldn’t come. This is an episode where, since we are all running out of time, they just sat everyone down and said, “This is what you should know.”
We found out a lot, a whole heck of a lot. I just wish they could have told it through a better method than two Final Five regurgitation machines. (no pun intended)
Paying homage to Jean-Paul Sartre’s famous play doesn’t get them that many bonus points from me. Ah well.
The revelations that surprised me the most:
- The Final Five had Head “angels” (like Baltar’s Head Six) who warned them about the impending holocaust.
- The Final Five were following in the footsteps of their ancestors so everyone did come from Earth first.
- Cavil has a secret colony out there. Since they have fruit and cheese, I’m guessing that it’s a habitable planet. Perhaps they’ll share?
Things I find questionable:
- Wouldn’t the Hybrid know that Ellen was aboard the ship?
- Would individuals give up resurrection just because the species as a whole is able to procreate?
Still pending:
- Opera house
- If Daniel is Starbuck’s father, then she would be the first Human-Cylon baby, and Hera is not that significant again. I don’t think I would be a fan of this resolution.
- So then who and what is Starbuck?
- I don’t get to see the teaser for the next episode so I don’t know to where Boomer and Ellen jumped. They wouldn’t know where the fleet is. Where would they go?
Boy, Galen Tyrol is a bit of a man-whore isn’t he?
