A Random Update of the Stuff I’m in the Middle Of
HBO’s Generation Kill miniseries. I’m five parts into this miniseries and haven’t been able to push past it yet. I’m scared for these guys, what they are facing, and how they have changed so far.
It’s chilling to think of just how many casualties we would have had had we actually faced a prepared and dedicated foe in Iraq. So far, these Marines are overcoming hot dog commanders, inadequate supply, and an overall lack of planning.
Even in the early days where things were going well, things weren’t going well.
Twilight by Stephenie Meyer. I finished the first chapter and haven’t been able to push past that yet. It was a cloying and standard teenage-girl mess. It made my stomach turn.
I’m trusting that it’s going to get better. After all, I have four books of this to get through.
