Doctor Who - Yay!, Heroes - Boooo
Netflix just told me that the first two discs of Doctor Who Season 4 are coming next. Holy cow, how long have I been waiting for this? As MaryAnn Johanson says:
As far as I am concerned, if you’re not madly in love with the Doctor and wouldn’t drop everything to hop into the TARDIS and probably end up getting killed on some alien planet eight million years in the past by Daleks or Cybermen or Slitheen, then there is an unbridgeable chasm between us, and we have nothing to talk about.
Now I may do a Martha Jones and eventually leave, but when the “woolf, woolf” sound is heard, I’ll always come running.
[topic break]
This is the first season of Heroes that I’ve seen live. For the other two seasons, I watched them pretty much straight through via Netflix’s Watch Instantly feature. (Do you get the sense that I love my Netflix?)
So for me, the first season was not as great as everyone else seemed to think it was, and the second season was not as bad as everyone was saying it was.
Except for the twins. They really were horrible.
So now, I think I finally understand the frustrations of the viewing public with this show. The end game doesn’t change from season to season. I can’t keep track of who did what to whom and for what reason. There is this promise of big things yet to come, but last night, once again, nothing seemed to push the story forward.
I’m bored.
I think if I could watch this season all in a row, it would come off more favorably, but as it stands, the show is lagging.
