Movie: G.I. Joe, the New Live-Action Feature
My favorite cartoon as a kid? G.I. Joe.
Perhaps I loved it because I would go on to discover that I really like military history, or perhaps I now like military history because of this cartoon. Who knows?
Either way, I’m pretty excited about the new G.I. Joe live action movie. Granted, the cast has me a bit worried, but I felt that way about The X-Men efforts and those turned out alright. I met a new crush, Hugh Jackman, so it was good for me.
I know why the movie is going with Duke, Scarlett, and Snake Eyes (read Cyclops, Jean Grey, and Wolverine), but my favorites were always Flint and Lady Jaye. Call me a girl, but UST is such a good thing. I didn’t even know what this was way back then. It just made me smile when they were all nice to each other.
Yes, Flint and Duke are repetitive but Flint has a beret. Doesn’t that make him cooler? From the promo pictures, it looks like they went and gave the beret to Hawk.
Oh, well. Maybe in the sequel.
