A Dog’s Internal Clock
When I got a joint-tenant boyfriend, I also got a joint-tenant dog. As you may expect, this dog is cute and wonderful and all the things that a dog should be. He also has so many strange personality (dogality?) quirks.
I know animals in nature have amazing internal clocks. It’s how they know when to migrate, when to come out of hibernation, and really, when to eat. What I really want to know is how to get that internal clock to sync up to Daylight Savings Time.
The night walk/run is usually mine. During the winter, we would go at around 10:00 pm. Even though we’ve “sprung forward” last month, this dog still comes prodding at 9:00 every night. Then he’s all huffy because I tell him he’s too early. He’s whining at me right now.
