Top Chef Decides That It Is Not All About the Food

Tonight’s Top Chef disappointed me. In the past, they’ve always judged on the food. People have majorly messed up during Restaurant Wars for decor and front-of-house and didn’t go home. Weaker overall teams have been saved because their food was better.

Tonight, I can no longer rely on the judges for that consistency. It’s a disappointment and a let down.

I admit that I would prefer to have Leah go home, but as long as I could understand the judging standards, I am ok with better chefs leaving early–as Ariane did in last week’s episode.

I don’t doubt that Radhika failed to excel in her role. I just think her team should have been safe based on the strength of their food.

Boo!, Top Chef, for straying from your standards of the last four years.
