Summer in Chicago from Atop the Navy Pier Ferris Wheel

For the most part, we had a great November in Chicago. The weather stayed tolerable. There was that whole Barack Obama election thing…
Today though, wow was it cold. It didn’t get above the low-20s, and snow’s coming in tonight.
I went to this picture for solace. Look how great the city looks when it’s warm. This shot is from one of the Ferris Wheel cars at Navy Pier.
Nice pic! I wonder if this picture was taken from the top of the wheel. Wondering just how high the view might get from there.
Hi, byteful. The picture is from the Ferris wheel. I think it is about 14 stories (or 140 feet) high. It feels high enough to be a bit scared as you get used to it.
If you’re on it with a significant other, the tradition is to kiss at the top. The view can get distracting, and that moment is easy to miss though. :)
