Movie: The Wrestler

There’s something in the water right? Even though this movie has a smaller main cast than Frost/Nixon or Milk, the performances in The Wrestler
Storywise, I also enjoyed watching this one more than the other two. The characters are better developed, and the characters’ turning points are more organic.
This is an American tragedy that is literately set in trailer parks and strip clubs. Mickey Rourke inhabits Randy, and communicates the title character’s moments, both big and small, powerfully and truthfully. Randy “the Ram” is big and dynamic, but oh so battle-scarred and worn. His quiet moments of desperation are something to behold.
