TV: Caprica

You know those episodes of Battlestar Galactica in which they do way too much talking? That’s Caprica.
The creative staff has been very upfront in saying that Caprica is not BSG. For the Pilot though, I could not help but feel that the episode felt much longer than its actual running time.
Pilot episodes, however, are tricky things. They are a lot of introduction without necessarily reflecting the true heart of the series.
For BSG fans, there is enough tie-in, at least so far, to keep you watching. I just wish there was at least one character that I already liked.
Bullets:
- Really cool opening. It had me going WTFrak.
- It’s weird how much the actress who plays Zoe looks like Zooey Deschanel.
- Bear McCreary rules!
- I first saw Polly Walker on Rome. She’s just as magnetic here.
- Paula Malcomson, who was awesome as Trixie on Deadwood, hasn’t had much to do so far. There’s a lot of pensive staring.
- It is very interesting to see how some of the Cylon traits came about. Parents and children. Real or machine. Alive or copy.
