Essential X-Files Episodes for the Movie
I know that The X-Files: I Want To Believe movie is coming out July 25. [Geez, remember when the series came out in the earlier days of the internet and when Fox’s official website switched to Flash, it kept crashing everyone’s computers? I can’t believe their site is locking me out again! It’s still not working, Fox! Really, it’s kind of eerie how much things haven’t changed.) I know that Chris Carter and Frank Spotnitz have designated eight X-Files episodes as essential viewing in preparation for the movie.
Since I’m now unemployed with all of July before me, I thought I’d give the rewatch a go. Other fans are going full-bore on an entire series rewatch. I’m not that brave.
I did find this amazing recap of the mytharc. Seriously, is this really true? Because it kind of makes sense. Four paragraphs were apparently all we needed. Arg!
Ok, so over the next however many non-consecutive days, I’ll go through the eight episodes: the Pilot, Beyond the Sea, The Host, Clyde Bruckman’s Final Repose, Memento Mori, Post Modern Prometheus, Bad Blood, and Milagro. I wonder what I’ll learn.
